The Motormen of Mumbai are threatening to strike. Reason being poor pay. So we compared their salaries with those of Pilots, Doctors, IPS/IAS offiers, and SBI officers from mid-day. Here's how it looks:
- Motorman: Salary: Rs 36,505 (approx)
Besides the monthly salary, a motorman also earns a decent wage in overtime. On an average the overtime wage could be between Rs 15,000-30,000, making the monthly earnings of a motorman close to Rs 1 lakh.
- Pilot: Salary: Rs 30,000
- Doctor: Salary: Rs 24,000
- IAS, IPS and IRS Officer: Salary: Rs 26,000
- SBI Probationary Officer : Salary: Rs 27,000
A motorman has diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
